Oh how much life can change over the years. It seems like just yesterday I was a dorky freshman in high school gearing up for the first week of school... and practicing to playing in the school's marching band. Yes I said dork and I meant it. My schedule freshman year didn't allow for me to play with the rest of the freshmen in the underclassmen band, so I was thrusted into playing with the upperclassmen band... a frightening thought for any freshman french horn player. Luckily I met some amazing older high schoolers who had no problem taking me under their wing and helping me adjust to the big scary world that was high school... one of whom was Amy. I've had the pleasure of reliving all of these memories recently when Amy shot me an email telling me she was engaged and quickly hiring me as their wedding photographer. I couldn't have been more thrilled. Her fiance Matt is a great guy and perfect for Amy. We shot their engagement session back in our hometown of Barrington, IL on Christmas Eve.
Matt lives within walking distance of downtown Barrington and one of their favorite bars, McGonigals. The owners were wonderful enough to let us in early, pour them a pint and allow us to take some photos there.
Amy and Matt, I had such a blast getting to spend part of the holidays with you guys. Thanks for braving the bitter Chicago winter! You were both great to work with, true naturals in front of the camera! I can't wait to photograph your wedding in March!
