When I think about how I came out to Colorado for college years ago, I always attribute a piece of that to Katie. She was a year older than me, and yet she quickly became someone I loved to hang out with. Her bubbly personality and hospitable charm was so inviting. We met each other at church and quickly became friends and when she went off to college a year before me, she would come back on breaks and rave about CCU. I knew I had to check it out. 7 years later I'm so glad that I did and so thankful that Katie was there to help me adjust in those first few years out here on my own.
Shortly after Katie graduated I heard that she had met a fantastic guy named Scott. It wasn't until they became engaged earlier this year that I finally got to meet him and I realized quickly that everythig I had heard about him was true. He simply brought out the best in Katie and was equally friendly and welcoming and it was easy to see how in love these two were. When they asked me to photograph their wedding I was beyond excited and when they told me they wanted to do their photos at a local trail I knew it was a perfect fit for these outdoor enthusiasts!
Scott and Katie opted for the first look.
Katie was simply elated.
It's always a struggle shooting around noon... but we found this great grassy hill to hide behind a bit... which also added fantastic texture to their photos!
Katie and Scott opted to get married outside, which proved to be a little cold!
But the joy was irresistable!
This is always one of my favorite moments at any wedding... the pure joy when they hear for the first time "I now annouce you husband and wife..."
I may or may not have found some guests Tebowing...
Loved this group shot at the end!
Definitely one of my favorites!
Katie and Scott, thank you so much for allowing me to document this day for you! It was so much fun to get to be a part of! I hope you look at these photos and remember how wonderful you are to each other.
